Inspired by the life and work of our friend, collaborator, and family member, we have formed the Jaik Miller Foundation, a charitable organization created to remember the artistry and profound decency of Jaik Miller, brilliant singer-songwriter and beloved friend of so many, who left us an extraordinary legacy.
The JMF, with Federal tax exempt status under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, has two distinct charitable objectives:
To help young composers whose music cuts across genres, e.g., rock or jazz and classical, with priority given to composers who use Jaik’s songs or poetry in their work. The Foundation will create a monetary award in recognition of such new music, and will support public performance of the work;
To promote and underwrite establishment of comprehensive medical services for people with mental illness, so that their physical health and well-being is provided for along with their mental health needs, assuring them of a fighting chance for long and productive lives.
Contributions to the JMF are deductible under section 170 of the IRS code. Please write your checks to the Jaik Miller Foundation, and mail to: JMF, 378 Mohonk Road, High Falls, NY 12440. For further information, write to Martin B. Miller, JMF President, firstname.lastname@example.org, Rob Schneck, JMF Vice President, email@example.com, or Jim Kramer, JMF Treasurer, firstname.lastname@example.org.
